Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
- The Paircut app runs on your computer. Your photos and videos are never sent to us. There is no account, no telemetry and no crash reporting.
- This website sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics and embeds nothing from third parties.
- Like any website, our hosting provider sees your IP address when you open a page or download the app.
- If you join the email list, we keep your address only to write to you about Paircut.
Who is responsible
Paircut is an independent project. For anything about your data, write to hello@paircut.video.
The website
The site and the download server (dl.paircut.video) are delivered through Cloudflare. To deliver pages and files and to protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes your IP address, your browser’s user agent and the time of each request. Cloudflare may set a cookie that is strictly needed for that protection; it is not used for tracking. How Cloudflare handles this data is described in its privacy policy.
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts, images and videos are served from our own domain, so opening the site doesn’t contact any other service. If we look at download numbers, we look at totals, not at individual visitors.
Email updates
If you sign up on the site, we store your email address, whether you asked to hear about the launch price, and the date you signed up. Nothing else. The list is kept in Cloudflare’s storage under our account; it is not shared or sold.
We use it only to send news about Paircut: new versions, and when it goes on sale. To unsubscribe, reply to any of our emails or write to the address above, and we’ll delete your address. If we later send the emails through a mailing service, we’ll name it here first.
The Paircut app
Paircut works on your computer. It reads your footage where it is and keeps everything it creates in a _paircut folder next to it. Nothing about your projects is sent to us, and the app doesn’t report how you use it.
The app connects to the internet only for things you choose to do:
- Working with Claude or ChatGPT. Paircut starts the Claude Code or Codex program installed on your computer, under your own Anthropic or OpenAI account. What it sends (the brief, your messages and the frames the assistant decides to look at) goes directly to Anthropic or OpenAI and is covered by their privacy policies, not ours. With the local Qwen model nothing leaves your computer.
- Optional downloads. If you install the local model, Paircut downloads the llama.cpp server from GitHub and model files from Hugging Face. Extra fonts come from the Google Fonts repository on GitHub, and speech recognition is installed from the Python Package Index. These services see your IP address, as with any download.
Legal basis
We process the technical data described above because we have a legitimate interest in delivering the website and the app and keeping them secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep your email address because you asked us to (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); you can withdraw it at any time. We don’t sell or share data, and we don’t build profiles.
Your rights
You can ask what data about you we hold, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its processing by writing to the address above. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date.
